A New Day Dawning

These pictures speak for themselves: Out of the darkness of the last 8 years finally comes light, warmth, hope.

The sound of a much appreciated autumn rain lulled me to sleep last night - enough to saturate the soil, but not enough to wash away all the seeds I've been flinging out into the garden. Waking to a brilliantly sunny and windy day the light appeared clear and sweet, almost colorless.

The garden is tucked in for the winter, seemingly desolate, barren. However the roots of a few new plantings are gathering strength under the soil - silent, unobserved, but ready to burst forth in bloom when the time is right.

Oh yeah! What a great day for our country. I wish the transfer of office could happen tomorrow!
