A Few Pictures of Flowers to Tide Me Over...

During winter I like to look back though the pictures of gardens past. Here are a few pictures I found... Digitalis thipsi and a lovely lilly...

Ah, some roses...

Hydrangea 'Ayesha'...

Alstromeria...

More alstromeria...

I love Dahlias...

The one below is 'Cafe au Lait'

A few beauties to warm the heart.

Later this year we may go on water rationing. While I would never ask for the challenge of keeping the garden going during water rationing, I intend to rise to the challenge (with some help from family members to carry the buckets of gray water). Nobody ever said gardening was a bed of roses!

Gee, I certainly can't decide which of your flowers are most gorgeous! But I have a thing for that vase full of roses. Good luck with the rationing!

I've been emptying the rain barrels as soon as they fill up in order to soak the soil as deeply as possible. I've only recorded about 4 or 5 inches of rain since October, but I think my garden has experienced more like 8 or 10 inches of "rain".

Lovely blooms! I wish I had even one blowsy garden rose in a bud vase right now. Hey, I sure wish we could send you some of our rain from Seattle - we're all going under here, glub glub, flooding galore. Hope it doesn't come to bucket toting this summer for you guys, but good luck if so!

I've been watching the Washington state floods on the news. It would be nice for both states if some of that rain would make it's way south. I havn't started to collect rain water as Chuck has but it's a good idea to start. What kind of barrel do you use?
