This tree is at my sons former middle school. I've watched it bloom every year for about the last 10 years and every year it puts on this mixed color explosion of flowers. The darker pink is always randomly sprinkled amongst the light pink blossoms. I've never seen another tree like it.
These tulips start yellow and slowly turn orange. I love color variation.
Iphion, oxcalis and the small purple flowered veronica are reliable late winter early spring color. At least here in California.
As are primrose.
I bought this poinsettia well before Christmas and it's still going. It even put on a couple of new leaves. Usually they look pretty ratty soon after the new year and I put them in the compost bin.I missed bloom day yesterday but thought I'd post these flower pics. anyway.
Happy gardening

The yellow and orange tulips are really pretty. Well, all the blooms are actually! And that primrose..., nice.
Wow, those primroses are amazing! Like little leopards! I know how you feel, i'm getting excited seeing things start to bloom out in the garden too... the pink jasmine, the fruit trees, the hawthorne... this is such a pretty time of year here in CA.
